Annual Bazaar

Doneyloop Youth Club: Annual Bazaar took place on Mon 21^st Nov,

It was a very successful and enjoyable night with lots of grand prizes up for grabs.

On behalf of the children of the youth club we would like to thank the

Ralph Sheppard

Resident Donegal moth expert Ralph Sheppard who has a deep knowledge of the local wildlife scene, and long experience in ecological matters recently visited our Youth Club and talked to junior club.

Ralph is an environmental consultant and author of the national review of wetland birds, ‘Irelands Wetland Wealth'

and has recently been involved in setting up an innovative website on Donegal Moths www.skylarks.ie/donegalmoths .

It was a very interesting talk with loads of questions from kids .

There was a subsequent field trip, moth traps where placed out the night before.

This trip was delayed due to bad weather so the turnout was small, But for those that where there found it amazing to see so many different and beautiful

types of moths .

Computer Room

Doneyloop Youth Club, held a free computer / internet safety class for the young members of the club

I.T. tutor was Sarah Conaghan .

It was a very useful and enlightening course regarding to internet safety and we hope to run it again before Christmas.

All the people who took part left with a better understanding of the hazards of social networking and how to avoid them e.g. (bullying , fraud, personal safety).

Club Outing

Junior & Senior Club Outing on the Saturday 28th May

A challenging and enjoyable outing was had by all.

with perhaps some help from the adults.

In Our Club On The 9th October 2010 It Was A Very Exciting Day For The Youth Club.

A great to see such a professional group of people in action RTE & National Lottery staff it was a great experience for the young members of the community. A special thanks to Finola McManamy.

(No doubt the seeds of budding presenters of the future have been sown)
